The Centre starts its activity on March 19^th 1980 in Faisalabad - Pakistan, with the aim of taking care of many poliomyelitic children who lay forgotten in various remote Punjab villages without receiving any help in rehabilitation. Therefore they are forced to live as beggars on the edge of dusty roads or to remain shut in their houses receiving no education and having no chance of any future perspective: a burden for their families, a good-for-nothing as far as society is concerned.

The building that hosts the Centre is a gift from Miss Haq, an aged pakistani anglican woman, who wanted it by will to be given to the Catholic Church so that it could be transformed into a house for the most needy.

So MISS HAQ HOME is born and it soon becomes Residential Centre of Rehabilitation for Poliomyelitic Children.

In Miss Haq Home there are many sisters, operators, doctors, volunteers and benefactors coming from different Countries and belonging to many cultures, religions and various social levels, and they are working all together for a unique objective: they cooperate and compete so that the children will lack nothing and will regain health and physical self-sufficiency, receive education, social and professional formation, but most of all they will feel loved and this will enable them to look forward to their future and to life with hope.

In this way, in “Miss Haq Home”, these many people’s Christian charity, solidarity, cooperation and goodness becomes PROVIDENCE and allows the Centre to continue its mission.
