Every
day our Communities offer needy children a reviving meal and a
resting place so that they may return to their houses with a
restored stomach. Through this simple action they experience
that the Lord is caring for them too.
The sorrowful gaze and the silent cry expressed by many
children encountered in villages, schools, as well as on the
roads of the numerous quarters and villages, have questioned
our sisters.
So
we have felt a strong desire and an urgent need to open our
hearts to these children so that they could receive a
nourishing meal at least once a day, and also, if necessary, a
quiet resting place.
These children are orphans, they are lacking food, they are
forced to walk many miles to get to school and then back home,
they are miserable children.
A solidarity chain has been created in the Family of the
Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena to which many
volunteers have now adhered, numerous young and less young
people, generous benefactors who feel themselves questioned by
Jesus’ inviting words: “You yourselves give them to eat!”.
The fruit of so much generosity can be expressed by offering a
meal to the many children of :
