Verifying and Revitalizing the Life of the Delegation was the theme of the 12th Assembly of the Delegation of Nigeria in Ibadan (26-28 August, 2017). Here are the testimonies of four sisters:
The Assembly commenced with a candle light procession with the Word of God which was enthroned on the Assembly ground. It was surrounded with 12 lighted candles and 37 sisters. This gave me a picture of the life of the 12 Apostles around Jesus (Vita Apostolica).
During the Assembly, I could testify to the sincere and audacious effort of each sister to work for the Common Good. The patient and joyful expression of each sister as we try to verify and revitalize the life of the Delegation gave me a foretaste of the life of future glory. It was a memorable experience. May God's name be praised now and forever. Amen.
Sr. M. Rita Nwafor (Junior sister, Abatete)
This assembly 2017 has been a daily exciting, enriching and revitalizing experience. It was a great joy for me to see the eagerness and the sincere quest for what is the core of our Charism as it was lived by our dearly beloved Mother Gerine.
Sr. Maria Teresa Cavallo (Ibadan)
It was indeed a memorable, beautiful, happy, enriching, challenging and prayerful moment to retrace our Patrimony as the delegation of Our Lady Seat of Wisdom-Nigeria gather for her 12th General Assembly to verify and revitalize the life of the delegation notwithstanding som of the challenges that daily confront us.
The journey of a very energetic, alive, young and active delegation grows to maturity with an ardent zeal and charity in the footsteps of Mother Gerine.
Everything seemed to be turning out for the best because each sister is appreciative of the development of the delegation, thus made generous contributions and tireless efforts.
The sacrifices of our dear postulants and novices contributed to the successful gathering. The spirit of Mother Gerine as relieved at this moment calls us to:
1. Intimacy and silent dialogue with the Lord.
2. Patient courage in our world of change.
3. Help the violated, poor and weakened family nucleus.
May the spirit of Mother Gerine inspire us and keep us in the love of God.
Sr. M. Joy Okocha (Mafoluku)
We thank the almighty God for the safe journey He granted us as we arrived for this year’s assembly 2017.
It was a great joy for us to meet as children of one family from different communities, a great delight to see the sisters starting their day’s activities with an hour of Eucharist adoration and the holy Mass as a way of handing over to God all they were to do for the day.
As novices and postulants, we cooperated each day with the cooking, preparation of merenda and cleaning. This has brought a great joy and sharing in our getting together. This togetherness has made us to be fully aware of what we can contribute to the Common Good of the Delegation.
